Ok, we promised you a list of 2016 Fourth of July Fun, Festivals, & Fireworks in Boulder County Colorado and beyond; so here we go. Most of these events are ‘Free’.
The biggest and probably most ‘traditional’ and long-standing of these events is: “Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast” – Held at Folsom Field; home of the University of Colorado Buffaloes. *For those of you new to the Boulder area or Colorado itself, “Ralphie” is the name of the CU Mascot; and he is an actual buffalo. This event kicks off Monday, the 4th of July at 8:30 pm MST and the actual fireworks display usually starts at 9:30 pm. The event is sponsored by Wright Kingdom Real Estate, The University of Colorado , and The City of Boulder. There are FREE HOP SHUTTLES from the Downtown 29th Street Mall area to the event. There is also a Photo Contest and all you have to do is post your best 4th of July Celebration Photo to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #Boulder4thofJuly to win the prize of ‘A CU Game Day Experience’.
**This is one event I would highly suggest to leave your doggies at home for. This is a people-friendly event only, and way too loud and over stimulating for our four-legged friends; canine, feline, equine, etc. * You can find out more at http://www.boulder4thofjuly.com
An equally popular event held annually on the 4th of July weekend is the The Boulder Art & Jazz Festival ; near the Pearl Street Mall at the Central Park Bandshell 1212 Canyon Avenue, Boulder, CO.: Saturday from 8a-8p , Sunday from 11a-8p , Monday from 11a-5p. *For detailed information go to: http://www.boulderjazzfest.com *This is one that is ok to take your leashed doggie to if they are well-behaved and ok with lots of excitement, and the stimulation of new people, pets, sights, sounds, and smells. There are over 100 vendors and several bands slated to play throughout the weekend celebrations.
Boulder Reservoir has the 4th Annual Star Spangled Splash Day, and Boulder Farmer’s Markets has other activities to enjoy; but the Reservoir does not welcome dogs on this holiday; for good reason- too loud and too much over excitement and over stimulation for our four-legged friends.
